SEEKING JUSTICE BECAUSE
OUR REPRESENTATIVES ARE AFRAID TO DO SO
THE WATCHMAN
We don’t normally stray from political concerns within the state of Oklahoma, but after receiving this from a friend, we felt it needed to be brought to your attention. We all have the right to redress our grievances with the Government. This is usually done by contacting your Representative and Senators. When this fails, people often do nothing about it. There are other ways to seek redress of your grievances. What follows is a letter from an individual to the U.S. House Ethics Committee. The name of the sender has been eliminated for their privacy as he requested.
We all know that this has been going on for decades, but the two subjects in this report are alleged criminals. One even has a conviction against him while he was a setting Federal Judge. The other is under investigation for several reasons. Here is what the letter said.
U.S. House of Representatives
House Ethics Committee
1015 Longworth House Office Bldg.
Washington, D.C. 20515
The Honorable Members of the House Ethics Committee;
I have complained to my Representative on several occasions concerning this first individual. That member represents District 20 in Florida. Representative Alcee Hastings is a former Impeached and Convicted Federal judge who was convicted in 1989 and sought and won office as a Representative in 1992. This information was based on this article from the Washington Post.
Article II, section 4 provides that officers impeached and convicted “shall be removed from office”; Article I, section 3, clause 7 provides further that “judgement in cases of impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States.”
The question here is very simple. Why has this man been allowed a position of trust, honor and profit been allowed to be seated in the U. S. House of Representatives for over twenty-five years? We seek a redress of our grievance of him knowingly being allowed to hold an office that is forbidden to him by the U.S. Constitution.
The second individual is Representative Ihan Omar of Minnesota. Although she is a freshman Representative, she has violated state laws in the past and is subject to an investigation by the Internal Revenue Service for filing joint tax returns with someone who she was not married to at the time. She is also being looked at by the Federal Elections Committee for campaign finance misuse.
We do realize that two of the investigations are still underway and information will be lacking until such time as a decision is made. We request a redress of our grievance as to why she has not been removed from her committee assignments pending the completion of the two investigations.
We remind you esteemed members that she has already been found guilty of campaign finance violations in her home state and ordered to repay her campaign thousands of dollars.
We would like to thank all the esteemed members of this committee and their staff for accepting these requests for redress of grievance.
