A QUESTION OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST FOR THE CHAIRMAN OF THE APPROPRIATIONS  AND BUDGET COMMITTEE

Sometimes people are put into positions of authority that they really either can’t handle or there is a serious conflict of interest. We have found one such individual in the Oklahoma State House of Representatives. Now we don’t know if the charges are certain or the working of a spiteful former spouse. Either way, the House Leadership should have acted to prevent the conflict of interest from happening. This will once again prove to be a poor judgment call of the Speaker of the House.

On January 2, 2019, the Chairman of the Appropriations and Budget Committee was accused of being just over $27,000,00 dollars behind 9n child support. With the case pending inn the Courts, he never should have been allowed to chair the Appropriation and Budget Committee. You can read more about it by opening this link here.

The allegation was reported by a rival station. You can see this article supported by the rival on the link above.

In his defense he released a statement through his attorney saying “I have paid over $250,000 in support since our divorce four years ago. My mistake was trusting our verbal agreement. I had hoped that as loving parents, we could settle our differences without attorneys and in private, I was wrong.” Now no one on our staff are legal experts, but we are all smart enough to know that on anything to do with a divorce should be in writing and filed with the courts. We next went to his official biography page located here. There is very little information about the man. Most of what is disclosed are his business interest. Those are worthy accomplishments that he deserves to be credited for. At the same time, it raises the question of how a businessman like him allow himself to get into this situation to begin with.

The next item that came tour attention https://ballotpedia.org/Kevin_Wallace. The reason this article intrigued us where the votes. His campaign finance records indicate that he had a runoff for the nomination last year, but there is no mention of who was running against him. 

We next went to www.votesmart.org to see what information they had. We started with his biography page which you will find here. It doesn’t give much additional information except for naming his children.

We next looked at his voting record here. The man ran for office as being the Conservatives Conservative, yet he has voted for every tax increase that has been presented. If he is a conservative, then surely, he would understand that conservatives stand for lower taxes and less regulation. That raises a very good question. Why is it that the majority party run as conservatives wanting to lower taxes and deregulate the system, yet once they are the majority they continuously raise takes and add regulations?

We next went to the political courage page to see where he stood on the issues. You can see the article found here. We found that he lacks the political courage to let them know where he stands on matters that impact their lives.

To verify this information, we went to his campaign web site to see if he had any stance on any subject that matters to his constituents. You can see the site here. Not once could we find anything on his stance of anything. This is the type of politician that will tell the people what they want to hear, not what he believes in. We noticed that he fails to indicate what party he is representing and there wasn’t anything that wasn’t done in typical Democrat style and color. You can see his campaign page by

We then went back to votesmart.org and looked at his evaluations page. You can view the endorsements by opening this link. He appears to change his stance every year.

We next went to the section on Campaign finances. You can look for yourself by opening this link. We would encourage you to do so. His contributors are mostly big industry and unions. That to is not indicative of a Conservative value.

We then found this article about one of his business’s. It tells you why he gets consistent low ratings from the Sierra Club.

We next went this site to see what the state had on file for his campaign finance reports. They were extensive, but it supported everything that the votesmart.org site had said.

In the final analysis, we have concluded that this man, Kevin Wallace, should not be allowed anywhere near the state’s, meaning citizens, tax disbursement efforts. He couldn’t even keep track of his own much less the states. This man needs to remain off all committees that deal with the states finances until such time as his case with the unpaid child support is resolved.
