FINANCING A SECOND CAMPAIGN FOR OFFICE: WHERE IS ALL THAT MONEY COMING FROM?

We are often asked where we get the inspiration for the articles we right. That is a very fair and legitimate question. We get our inspiration from various news articles we read on the internet. That is where this week’s story comes from. There was a very good article in the MuskogeePolitico.com. The article can be viewed here. The article covers an interesting subject about the campaign finance raised by Representative Hern over the last quarter. It’s well worth your time to read it.

The first thing we did was go to his campaign website located here to find out as much about his campaign as we could.

We started by going to the page that covers “Promises Kept.” You can see the report by opening this link. It looks impressive on the surface, but we had our doubts. We looked a little deeper.

We next went to the voting records page located here. We couldn’t help but to wonder why he would vote against a piece of legislation and turn around and vote for a motion to recommit. That negates his no vote.

It’s always surprised us how we here in Oklahoma can claim that we are a Conservative State, when our state legislative bodies and our delegation in the District of Corruption are liberal in nature and wouldn’t even qualify as a “Blue Dog Democrat.” That is truly a sad state of affairs. We are shocked to see that Oklahoma still ranks among the top five in the amount of freedom we have, but those liberal, establishment Republicans are always looking for a way to take a little more of that freedom away.

Now we find that the leadership of the state GOP is in complete disarray. That break down led to the defeat of the Republican Incumbent in the 2016 general election. What brought our attention to this sordid take was this story from the Muskogee Politico. This was showing how much she raised during the last quarter. We were curious as to where all that money came from, so we went to the Federal Elections Commission here to see what information they could provide. You can see the results below.

The subject of today's review is District 29 Representative Kyle Hilbert. Looking at his background from his college days we find it hard to believe that he would actually get involved in something like the National Popular Vote.

 

We first went to his official web page, located here, to see what information was available. This was a biography page. There is little useful information available here. The most useful would be his office telephone numbers.

 

We next found this article from Ballotpedia. Now at a glance it appears that he sponsored some good legislation, however that is not the case. A good portion of the legislation are actually proclamations for various things. He wrote a tax increase bill that never got out of committee. The rest are bills designed to micro-manage the state budget. We agree with the need for more oversight but fail to understand why it must be micro-managed.

 

We next went this site to look at his Wikipedia page. It was a complete waste of our time. There was no useful information at all. Except for the basics, the page was blank.

Tonight, we bring you the third installment of those who wish to silent your vote. District 12 Senator James Leewright is the subject of tonight’s presentation.

We began by going to his official biography page. You can find it by opening this link. We will give him credit for being a little more open than some of his colleagues in the Senate. After reading it, it became difficult to draw conclusions on the man with an open mind. We will say this much. His biography displays a tendency to lean towards the business community rather than his constituents.

We next went to his campaign web site located here. Although this is relatively good site, it’s lacking in something that is vital to the knowledge of the voters. We were unable to locate any trace about where he stood on anything that is an issue the voters would be concerned about. We found this to be true throughout our investigation. This allows him to say what ever he feels the voters are concerned about without being pinned down to his written word. Another word for such actions is simply cowardly lies.

This week we bring you the second installment of those accepting trips from the National Popular Vote lobbyist. Yes, they have a lobbyist pushing it at the state capital. Once again, we received some good information on the subject from the Muskogeepolitico.org. What we found was that some of the senior levels of politicians are not for this proposal.

We’ll begin by going to Lt.Governor Matt Pinnell. You can read his comments by going to this link. He is a long-time opponent pf the National Popular Vote and remains stead fast in his opposition.

Another of the state leaders opposed to the National Popular Vote is the Senate-pro tem Senator Treat.

We read a disturbing article the other day by Mr. Jamison Faught of the MuskogeePolitico.com. Even though as recently indicated on Friday the 13th of September of 2019, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Ginsburg, the most liberal of the 9 Justices, considered doing away with the electoral college was absurd. Now they don’t come out and flat say that they want to give away your vote or even do away of the electoral college, but that’s what in affect what the national popular vote would do. It’s a blatant attempt to give all elections to the liberal east and west coast by saying your representatives on the electoral college must vote for the person running for the Office of the President who receives the most votes regardless of how your state voted.

Quoting from the article “The legislature is very concerned about voter apathy and declining participation. I told them in 2015 that elections need to be meaningful for Oklahomans” says David Van Risseghem, editor of SoonerPolitics.org. It still is today.

ANOTHER FAKE REPUBLICAN SHOWS HIS TRUE COLORS

From time to time we come across am elected official that goes so far against what the party is doing, that we just have to ask them to leave the party. We came across one such Republican traitor last week. Once again it concerns the 2^nd Amendment to the Constitution. The law he wants to see off the books is the recently passed “Constitutional Carry” law.

What made us take a look at this individual was this article in the Muskogeepolitico.com. We have here an elected Republican official who not only spoke at a rally to repeal the law, but also had the nerve and audacity to misrepresent the legislation to his hometown City Counsel in order to get them to join in the petition against the Constitutional Carry law.

We know that this is nothing more than a political stunt started by Representative Lowe to gain name recognition. In actuality we can say, by this example, that in reality all this petition was for was to split the state much like what the Democratic National party is doing to this country. This isn’t being done to protect the innocent at all. What is it that is causing these allegedly highly educated Representatives don’t understand about the phrase in part: shall not be infringed” do they fail to understand. As the saying goes “You can’t fix stupid.”
