MAPS 4 & HOW IT WILL AFFECT THE CITIZENS OF OKLAHOMA CITY

by THE WATCHMAN
In a continuous tale of trying to make improvements for those who live in Oklahoma City, another of the Maps proposal will be coming up shortly. Many have asked what all it about. We shall attempt to answer some questions about the proposal. The first article we located was this from the City of Oklahoma City. This is an informative article that is well worth the time to read. It may answer a lot of the questions you have.

The next article of interest we found was this this. This gives you information that wasn’t in the first article. Here is where you will find a lot of details, they won’t tell you anywhere else. There are several changes to how the voting for this have changed. The major change is the voting itself. Past MAPS elections have had each project voted on separately. The upcoming vote will be a single vote for all the projects. The suspected reason they did it this way was that by bundling the projects together they all stand a better chance at passing.

Oopsie! We're Correcting Our Report

A CORRECTION TO A PREVIOUS STORY
THE WATCHMAN
We take this small block of your time to issue a correction to a story from last week on Campaign Financing and Congressman Hern. We erroneously showed a conservative rating of 17%. A more up to date article from the Conservative Review indicates that Congressman Hern has a Conservative rating of 60%. We apologize for our error. You can get the latest report by opening this link.

Kevin Hern: Campaign Money & Votes

FINANCING A SECOND CAMPAIGN FOR OFFICE: WHERE IS ALL THAT MONEY COMING FROM?
- THE WATCHMAN

We are often asked where we get the inspiration for the articles we right. That is a very fair and legitimate question. We get our inspiration from various news articles we read on the internet. That is where this week’s story comes from. There was a very good article in the MuskogeePolitico.com. The article can be viewed here. The article covers an interesting subject about the campaign finance raised by Representative Hern over the last quarter. It’s well worth your time to read it.

The first thing we did was go to his campaign website located here to find out as much about his campaign as we could.

We started by going to the page that covers “Promises Kept.” You can see the report by opening this link. It looks impressive on the surface, but we had our doubts. We looked a little deeper.

We next went to the voting records page located here. We couldn’t help but to wonder why he would vote against a piece of legislation and turn around and vote for a motion to recommit. That negates his no vote.

IS REPRESENTATIVE HORN WORKING FOR HER CONSTITUENTS? OR IS SHE SELLING A SCAM?

THE WATCHMAN

It’s always surprised us how we here in Oklahoma can claim that we are a Conservative State, when our state legislative bodies and our delegation in the District of Corruption are liberal in nature and wouldn’t even qualify as a “Blue Dog Democrat.” That is truly a sad state of affairs. We are shocked to see that Oklahoma still ranks among the top five in the amount of freedom we have, but those liberal, establishment Republicans are always looking for a way to take a little more of that freedom away.

Now we find that the leadership of the state GOP is in complete disarray. That break down led to the defeat of the Republican Incumbent in the 2016 general election. What brought our attention to this sordid take was this story from the Muskogee Politico. This was showing how much she raised during the last quarter. We were curious as to where all that money came from, so we went to the Federal Elections Commission here to see what information they could provide. You can see the results below.
