CONSTITUTIONALLY THE WORST FRESHMAN LEGISLATOROF THE YEAR AND SHE RAN AS A CONSERVATIVE

We can understand the people of a district recognizing a name of a School Board Member that is seeking a higher office. We find it disturbing when we see candidates who run as Republicans who are really Democrats at heart. Unfortunately she even campaigned as a Conservative and won. It was painfully obvious that she needs a refresher course in the Oklahoma Constitution and a course in ethics wouldn't hurt either.
We began with the lowest scoring member in the House. We began by going to her state web site here
Representative Tammy West - Oklahoma House of Representatives. What we find interesting on this page is that she is assigned as Vice-Chair of the Higher Education and Career Tech committee. She is also the Vice Chairman of the Majority Caucus. Those are awfully lofty positions for someone serving their first term and first session in the House. We can't help but ask how many votes did she throw to get those positions? What promises did she make to the Speaker of the House?
The first article of interest we found was this Home. This is her campaign web site from the 2016 campaign. It is truly like nothing that we have seen before. There is absolutely no indication of where she stands on any subject that would matter to the citizens of her district or the state. It also points out a partial reason behind her votes. In the video she proudly brags about being endorsed by the Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce. In short she is owned and operated by them. She votes the way they want her to.

We next went to www.votesmart.org to see what information was available there. We started by going to her biography page here Tammy West's Biography - The Voter's Self Defense System - Vote Smart. We did not find anything new here.

We are unaware of who supplied the information to them on her voting record, but whoever did was very selective about the voting records they submitted. That is a project we will have to work on to correct this summer. She even indicated a Yea vote on a measure that was a revenue increase that they played word games on and called a "Fee" after it didn't pass as a "Tax". It was still a revenue increase bill and passed after the Constitutionally set deadline. It has already received a challenge in court.
The next item we looked at was the Ratings and Endorsement page here Tammy West's Ratings and Endorsements - The Voter's Self Defense System - Vote Smart. Now we fully understand that she is going through her first term in office and organizations do base their ratings on performance. She did receive one rating in 2016. Now the group that rated her also supported Harry Reid just to get a new gun range in Nevada, so we don't hold a lot of water behind this rating.

We next went to the Campaign Finance report page here Tammy West's Campaign Finances - The Voter's Self Defense System - Vote Smart. The information here was compiled from reports at www.followthemoney.org. There are numerous individual campaign donors listed in the report. We also found almost every major corporation that forms the backbone of the Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce has donated to her campaign. That would explain her cheerful acceptance of the endorsement by them. What is saddening is she also accepted contributions from almost every special interest group and union on the block. Those are not the actions of a Conservative politicians.
The next article of interest we found was this Tammy West Announces Campaign for Oklahoma House District 84 | FortySix News. We also found this in connection with her announcement "A longtime community leader in House District 84, Tammy West will be a strong conservative voice for our neighborhoods as our next State Representative." Someone was certainly blindsided. We fail to understand how anyone can come to a decision like that when the candidate won't even put into writing or on her campaign web site what positions she takes on anything. To us that is disingenuous.
The next article we found was this Rep. Tammy West Vlog - Week 10 - YouTube. We again urge you to open this link and watch the video. What you'll see is a Representative calling for the growth of government and more spending. We would like to know what it is about there being a nearly $900 million dollar phony budget hole she doesn't understand? She has a degree in Business. Does she make a profit in her own firm? What is preventing her from using her simple business logic while considering the budget? That's pure lunacy.
The next item of interest we found was this Rep. Tammy West. This document is the proof that she understands the rules of what is acceptable and what is not while she is a sitting Representative. Now if she would only learn a little about the State Constitution.
The next article of interest we found was this 2016 Signers of Open Government Pledge - FOI Oklahoma. She has in fact signed this pledge; however we feel that she has violated that pledge by not allowing her entire voting record to be submitted to the VoteSmart.org site. We also feel that she has violated the pledge by not indicating a position on anything. How did she even get elected?
We next went to the 2017 RINO list to see how well she did there. These are just a few of the votes she cast that didn't make it to the Voting Record at votesmart.org. These are all votes on subjects that truly mattered to the individual citizens of Oklahoma.

These votes have shown her colors. She may claim to be a Republican but in reality she is a Chambercrat. The Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce got what they paid for. It is the citizens of Oklahoma that will suffer. Fortunately there have been indications that these tax increases and fees have been challenged in court. It seems that they even over looked the statute that says revenue increase measures passed within the last week of the session must receive a vote of the people at the next regular statewide election. But we can't rely on a Court system that protects them and not the citizens.
This individual is not qualified to hold the office of State Representative. She shouldn't even be elected to the position of dog catcher. She sold her vote before the election and will never do anything for her constituents. We recommend that she resign from her position now.
