WHO IN OKLAHOMA WANTS TO SILENCE YOUR VOTE?

Kyle Hilbert

WHO IN OKLAHOMA WANT TO SILENCE YOUR VOTE?

THE NATIONAL POPULAR VOTE
AND THOSE WHO SUPPORT IT:
PART 4

THE WATCHMAN

The subject of today's review is District 29 Representative Kyle Hilbert. Looking at his background from his college days we find it hard to believe that he would actually get involved in something like the National Popular Vote.

We first went to his official web page, located here, to see what information was available. This was a biography page. There is little useful information available here. The most useful would be his office telephone numbers.

We next found this article from Ballotpedia. Now at a glance it appears that he sponsored some good legislation, however that is not the case. A good portion of the legislation are actually proclamations for various things. He wrote a tax increase bill that never got out of committee. The rest are bills designed to micro-manage the state budget. We agree with the need for more oversight but fail to understand why it must be micro-managed.

We next went this site to look at his Wikipedia page. It was a complete waste of our time. There was no useful information at all. Except for the basics, the page was blank.

We next went to www.votesmart.org to see what information they had available. We started by going to the biography page located here. We found a lot of information that was unknown before this page was found.

We next went to this section to get an idea of his voting record. We were appalled to find someone claiming to be a Conservative yet voted for every tax increase offered. We were further appalled that he claims to be a Conservative yet voted in favor of every soft on crime measure presented to the floor. These attitudes only lead to higher crime rates in the state.

We next went to the ratings and endorsement section located at this link. We linked the entire section in order to give readers the opportunity to see the entire report. We have given some examples below.

Business and Consumers
2018 Research Institute for Economic Development 91%
2017-2018 National Federation of Independent Business 100%

These indicate that he’s more willing to give businesses a break and let the consumer spend more out of their own pocket.

Conservative
2018 The Oklahoma Constitution-Lifetime Score 35%
2017 American Conservative Union-State Legislative-Lifetime Score 60%

Fiscally Conservative
2017 American Conservative Union-State Legislature Lifetime Score 60%
2017 Sooner Tea Party 20%

We next went to look at his campaign finance report provided by www.followthemoney.org. Although Action Committees dominated his campaign finances. You can see the report located here. There’s enough to call into question who he is working for.

The next article of interest we found was this. It doesn’t really tell you much, but it does give you this statement, “ Hopefully the Legislature will address our budget crisis and provide long term solutions.” Well it was addressed by putting an additional tax burden on the citizens who could least afford it while giving large companies a tax break. Have they ever thought of cutting state spending? It’s doubtful.

The next article of interest we found was this from the Sapulpa Times. There is one quote from the very first of this article that stands out. That quote is Pledging a fresh perspective in the State Capitol.” That quote raises the question. If this is a fresh perspective how come, we ended up with the same old Liberal tax and spend Rino’s that have been in office all a long?

We next went to the Trump Index to see how he voted on matters that Oklahomans are concerned about. His Conservative rating took a major hit. His voting on these matters earned him an 11% Conservative rating. You can see the questions and his votes listed below.

  • HB 1014 Bio-Metric Sharing Bill Voted Yea, a Liberal vote
  • HB 1089 Hospital Subsidy Expansion Bill Voted Yea Liberal vote
  • HB 1100 Selling Drugs at School Voted Yea, a Liberal vote
  • HB 1263 Zero Emissions Tax Credit, Voted yea Liberal vote
  • HB 1269 Scrubbing Criminal Records Act, Voted Yea, Liberal vote
  • HB 1411 Home Builder Corporate Welfare, Voted Nay, a Conservative vote
  • HB 1774 Rt 66 Pinnells Commission, Voted Yea, Liberal vote
  • HB 2009 Less Prison Time for Sex Offenders Act, Voted Yea, Liberal vote
  • HB 2095 Clean Fuels Credit Extension, Voted Yea, Liberal Vote
  • HB 2218 Waive Court Cost for Criminals Act, Voted Yea, Liberal vote
  • HB 2273 Parole Acceleration Bill, Voted Yea, Liberal vote
  • HB 2367 Workman’s Compensation Fraud Enabling Act, Voted Yea, Liberal Vote
  • HB 2369 Soft on Crime Commission, Voted Yea, Liberal vote
  • HB 2739 Governor’s Closing Fund, Voted yea, Liberal vote
  • SB 184 DNA on arrest bill, Did not vote
  • SB 200 Expanded Tax Credit for Films, Voted Yea, Liberal Vote
  • SB 252 Catch and Release Bill, Voted Nay, a Conservative vote
  • SB 608 Liquor Distribution Law change, Voted Yea, Conservative vote
  • SB 749 Infrastructure Funding Assistance to Corporations, Voted Yea, Liberal vote

What this has indicated is that just like his Democratic friends, his liberal mind set wants to deny you your right to have your vote counted in a Presidential election. His record is a disgrace. It would be highly recommended that he be replaced with a true conservative.
